Exclusive Knight Elements V2 Ultra Kukri Folder

All of the MK Ultra series of knives were designed by Jason Knight and released collaboratively with Doug Marcaida. The following design was part of a series released at Blade Show 2017 and the entire series won best collaboration of the year with Fox Cutlery.

Jason and I went back to the drawing board and made some subtle design changes and we are truly elated to be releasing this Version 2 (V2) under the Knight Elements Brand. The following changes were made in regards to the V2 Ultra Kukri Folders.
•One Screw Pocket Clip;
•Larger relief when disengaging the lockbar.

    FMA Practitioner Review

Posted by Thomas S on 11th Aug 2020

The lines and size of this knife are very nice. I have trained and teaching FMA for over 18 years and have a lot of time and hands on with several different blades. Let me break down why this is a good knife and some issues I keep reading that I can help clear anything for someone who is looking to purchase this. First off I purchased this to have a new daily carry knife. The size of it is on the larger end of a pocket knife as it should be it is a freaking Kukri for heaven sakes people. Please read the size of the knife as they posted the specs of it, so you have known what you were getting. The full length fullers really help with the balance and weight of the knife. The knife opens smoothly and does not catch. I will have to agree with some people it does need a little extra oil but I mean a drop or so. The big complaint is people can not close it one handed and have to use two hands is probably because they have tiny hands do not understand how a frame safety closing mechanism works. I have no problem in flow or moving around opening or closing it one handed. You just have to train you self to close it slightly differently. The only real adjustment I had to make was the pocket clip to give it a little less hold/pressure so it can be drawn quickly. Yes Fox Knives does make this knife, NO they are not a bad company. They make some good knives in fact. I feel that there might be a slight inconsistency in the batch, but that happens sometimes in manufacturing. Overall I am happy I purchased it. I plan on getting some for gifts and some fixed as well. That should hopefully help some of you. Thank you Tactical Elements for selling this knife and others.

    Big folder

Fit and finish is wonderful, G10 is lightly textured and the thumb lock is stout. Knife will get sharp, but you will need a diamond honing rod to get the recurve sharp. This knife will get shape, just take your time.

Awesome knife. It is the biggest pocket knife I have ever carried. But it is also the most awesome and best pocket knife I have ever carried. I definitely feel safer and better prepared, knowing it is in my pocket.

Outstanding design, and build. I would expect nothing less. It wants to kill. A bargain price point.

Awesome blade! Couldn't get any better!

I bought this has a birthday gift for my feonce'. We had discussed the knife before and he was in love but didn't want to spend the money on himself. So... I did it for him!. Anyway he was very impressed. It felt good in hand. And it sat well in the pocket with the clip. Usually with larger pocket knives they tend to not carry as well. This one was no problem. He said it is a sharp knife but not quite up to his standards of sharpness. That was the only complaint. That is if you could really call it one.

Solidly built knife, but not all that comfortable in the hand. The opening action is slow and doesn't always lock open without help. Closing requires two hands to release the lock, as it's way too tight. Very sharp, however. I love the design and idea behind the knife, but the actual building of it missed the mark. It's a shame that the brainchild of Doug Marcaida and Jason Knight wasn't built better than it has been. Maybe Fox Cutlery wasn't up to the task.

    Nice but not great.

It seems very well designed and solidly built. I think the handle could have been worked a bit better to feel less squared off. It's very difficult to push the lock aside to close the knife. The blade doesn't snap open as quickly and firmly as my Kershaw and ZT knives with the speedsafe system, but I'm hoping that will change after I clean things up and get some of the heavier lubricant that it came lubed with from the factory. Most knives and firearms are the same way, in my experience. Very well thought out, but I have so far been disappointed with the execution.

    MK2 Kukri folder

I was very impressed by the smooth lines and craftsmanship of the knife.
It wasn't until I ficked the blade open and it hardley came out.
After a little oil and a small adjustment, it opens a little better, but it doesn't open as fast as the article in Knife Illustrated stipulated. I'm going to give it some time to break in because I think this is a beautiful knife!
