Wow! My first rmj hawk and I can’t wait to give it some abuse. The handle grip feels excellent. Well balanced chopping tool at first impression. The spike on this hawk is like a shark fin, it looks durable like it can take a lot of hammering and puncturing. The edge under the spike is sharpened at around 40 degrees, so it’s a robust edge but I feel like it gives the spike more strength overall. The chopping edge is also a nice design. From the middle of the axe, the head tapers down to a pretty thin edge, but it still feels like it has good weight behind it, so I know it will be a decent chopper at best. No complaints with the Kydex sheath, feels high quality with tight lockup as expected. I’m glad I finally forked over the $500 and purchased an Rmj Knight Hawk. I have a feeling this won’t be my last rmj, I’d recommend one of their axes or tomahawks in a second.
