I began making knives in 2008 with a cobbled together self built grinder in a small shop with an extension cord run from the house. I immediately knew I had found my creative outlet and haven't looked back since.
We are a family business with my wife Amy helping me with all business aspects and our adult children both working part time.
We are in the process of growing and look forward to adding more members to the team in the near future. We're glad to have you follow along with our journey. The McNees Performance Machined Line is a labor of love. I wanted to bring a more affordable line of knives to the market but I would only do it if I could keep them made in the USA. This is not the easiest or most profitable route but it's important to me. All the outsourced work on these is done in the USA and a good portion of the work is done right here in my shop, including fitting locks, detents and sharpening. As we continue to grow, more processes will be done in house.
