My knifemaking journey began in 1976 with a fillet knife crafted from a sabre saw blade. Over time, I expanded into hunting knives, boot knives, folding knives—including lockbacks, liner locks—and eventually, automatics. ATS-34 is my primary blade steel, along with select Damascus from various makers. Liners and springs are made from titanium, often anodized for added durability and aesthetics. I incorporate file work on most liners and occasionally on blades as well.
Handle materials vary widely, including Micarta, circuit boards, wood, stag, buffalo horn, ivory, mother of pearl, and oosik. I am a charter member of both the Florida Knifemakers Association and the Gator Knife Club. My early work was shaped under the guidance of master knifemakers Frank Centofante and Mel Pardue during the 1970s.
