I started making cases for firearms in 1982. I couldn't find any cases of good quality for my rifles and handguns. I felt I wasn't alone in that quest. I was right. I taught myself how to use an industrial sewing machine and spent a year seeking the best materials to make those cases. I refused to use laminated foam to make cases. Soon thereafter I was introduced to the world of custom knives by a knife maker named Dave Pitt whom I met at a gun show in the San Francisco area. After making cases for Dave I exhibited at my first knife show in Southern California. I sold every case I had made for the show before the end of the first day. It was a three day show. Between making cases for firearms and knives I was quite busy. The more shows I attended the more cases I sold. So, here it is with two more months left in 2008. The world has gone through a lot of changes. I have attended hundreds of gun shows and knife shows over the years. I even ran my own knife show for seven years in San Jose, California. I'm pushing 60 years of age and am still making cases. Over the years my skill has increased. I have customers all over this country and the world. The ability to remain in business is because of the satisfied customers I have acquired throughout the years and my reputation for quality cases. I have met a lot of people and made a lot of friends all because of my involvement with custom knives. It's been quite a ride. I'm looking forward to the next quarter of a century.
