I've loved knives for as long as I can remember and have always had a creative itch.
I began making knives in 2008 with a cobbled together self built grinder in a small shop with an extension cord run from the house. I immediately knew I had found my creative outlet and haven't looked back since.
We are a family business with my wife Amy helping me with all business aspects and our adult children both working part time.
This MAC 2 3.5" features our SHOCKWAVE milling pattern inlaid on both face and lockside scale. All pattern milling done in-house. The big brother to the MAC 2 is here! With a 3.5” blade in CPM MAGNACUT, and an updated pivots and thumbstud, the 3.5” takes the ultra smooth MAC2 to a new level. The McNees Performance Machined Line is a labor of love. I wanted to bring a more affordable line of knives to the market but I would only do it if I could keep them made in the USA. This is not the easiest or most profitable route but it's important to me. All the outsourced work on these is done in the USA and a good portion of the work is done right here in my shop, including fitting locks, detents and sharpening. As we continue to grow, more processes will be done in house.
The MAC 2 3.5" is an extremely pocket friendly and ergonomic design. With lines that flow open or closed. it sports all the features of a full custom.

- Hardware is all made in the US now
- Bearings are now ceramic with a Delrin cage
- Body and clip screws are now Ti
- Standoffs are threaded instead of the lockside handle so there are now body screws on both sides
- Standoffs have shoulders that fit into counterbores – makes them act as locating pins to hold everything together more precisely
- They now have a milled pocket for the base of the clip
