This is a 100% Made in Korea three-section baton developed by HORNET DEFENSE, a new Korean manufacturing brand specializing in defense tool production. The first and second sections are CNC-machined from 7075 T6 duralumin, while the third section is crafted from 4140 chrome-molybdenum alloy steel. Notably, the alloy steel third section is not hollowed-out pipe but solid, solid-core material machined from solid bar stock. It undergoes additional carbon diffusion hardening heat treatment / salt bath nitriding heat treatment, dramatically enhancing hardness and durability.
Therefore, it can effectively perform impacts such as shattering vehicle windows, a capability typically found only in high-end telescoping batons. This enhanced robustness maximizes centrifugal force and striking power when deploying the baton and during impact. The development concept was ‘If you can carry a smartphone, you can carry a baton too.’ It maximizes the core EDC principle of portability by closely matching the size and weight of a mobile phone. Even formidable defense tools or weapons become difficult to use in critical moments if they are inconvenient to carry. Therefore, prioritizing portability over raw performance is also a trend in modern defense weapons.
The grid-patterned handle features slightly sharp edges from machining, serving as a grip enhancement for use with gloves to prevent slippage. Even when used barehanded, it provides a strong, secure grip. This makes it an excellent choice not only for its tactical appearance but also for its practical functionality.
