The Raptor Sickle is made for one specific job, and it does it extremely well. It’s a single-edge sickle designed for removing young offshoots from mature plants without pulling everything out of the pot.

The blade is thin enough to slip into tight gaps between the parent plant and the baby plant. Once in place, it cleanly cuts the underground runner that connects them, letting you remove the offshoot with minimal disturbance. If you clear a little soil first with a soil stick, the work becomes even easier.

Made from 3mm stainless steel and heat treated to over HRC55, the blade holds a sharp edge and stands up to repeated use. The single-bevel grind gives it a noticeably cleaner cut than double-edged styles, especially when working in small pots. It’s particularly well suited for pot sizes 3 to 5.

This sickle was developed under the Takemoto Bros approach of building tools that are functional first, but still well considered in form. The shape takes cues from birds of prey like hawks and eagles — simple, direct, and sharp where it counts. Right-hand and left-hand versions are available to match how you work.

It’s mainly intended for harvesting agave and other succulent seedlings, but it also works very well as a florist knife for fine, controlled cuts. Built for precision work in tight spaces. A straightforward, purpose-driven tool that earns its place on the bench.
