Timberline Knives Aviator Survival Fixed Tanto Bead Blast Blade Black Handles w/ Kydex
The timberline aviator knife was designed specifically for aviators, how do i know??? I talked to them at the blade show in atlanta and this was on their design table.

The 4 inch blade is made of 440c which is a great steel and resists rust well and it is very tough. The knife was designed for cutting wires from avionics to fenceing wire.

Actually, the aviator is a scaled down version of emerson's specwar knife. The handles are very unique for a fixed blade being designed to be very ergonomic. It is glass filled nylon handle with the angles fitting the hand perfectly. It covers the full tang blade. In a word this knife is - tough.

The kydex sheath system is also very well designed. It can be carried about anywhere. It can utilize straps to mount to a leg or to numerous other objects. It also has a belt loop. The straight edge of 440c steel has a rockwell hardness of 58 to 59. The blades finish is bead blast matte.

This knife is no longer made but very well liked. So if your a bush pilot or packing out and need a great camp knife, this is it. You get the knife and sheath, it has been on display for for almost 15 years.
