Turner CNC is a third generation production machine shop. We specialize in CNC milling and turning in the medical, off-road, and outdoor industries. We are a small business of three people, supporting two American families. We are located in Gardnerville, NV in the Sierra Nevadas about an hour South of Reno.
The Elvia is a collaboration between Turner CNC, Inc. and Ed Calderon of Ed's Manifesto. The Elvia is Ed's signature blade design and it is directly inspired by a knife his mother used to carry every day.
Our version of the Elvia features a 3D machined CPM Magnacut blade. The Elvia blade transitions from a hollow grind at the heel for increased cutting performance, to a flat grind at the tip for strength. CPM Magnacut is a Crucible powdered metal steel that has high toughness while still having good edge retention. Our blades are all professionally vaccum heat treated and then liquid nitrogen treated for maximum toughness.
The handle scales are CNC textured G10 and are affixed to the skeletonized full tang with our custom 17-4 stainless hardened hardware. Our in-house made hardware is removable using a penny allowing for storage under the scales and field maintenance without special tools.
The handle scales have a recess in the back to allow for a small cord to go through the blade to act as a lanyard.
The included sheath is an ambidextrous Kydex deep carry design. The sheath comes with a Tracker Dan Gen 2 clip, and the clip is removable for different clips or carry methods.
Heat Treat Oxide: This is the raw finish that develops on the blades during the vacuum heat treat and cryogenic process. It is more susceptible to scratches and wear over time. This finish is not uniform, and changes from blade to blade.
